Those poor people in Pompeii. What were THEY doing to the environment?

Tedd Webb makes a fairly decent point that the earthquake and subsiquent tsunami in South East Asia was neither the vengence of God or the product of man's actions on the earth.

Hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis and earthquakes all happened before Henry Ford invented the car. Thounds, sometimes hundreds of thousands died in those events BEFORE we started making the air stinky. I mean, look at Pompeii. Who the hell did they piss off?
