It's WHITE NOISE for heavens sakes,.

James hates it when I put the fan on at night in the bedroom. *I* think it's hot, he thinks it's too cold, and even with the window opened, I have trouble sleeping without the air circulating. I'm like this even in the winter, when the room's a little warm and dry. He also claims it's TOO LOUD. It's WHITE NOISE. How can it be too loud? It's the sound of NOTHING. It's not like it's a jet engine or something. It's just a fan.

Hmm...the room temperature thing is the exact opposite of what I expected. Usually it's the man who likes to keep the room the temperature of an icebox. For example, at my job men regulate the air conditioning so it's like working in a meat locker. All the men around me find it so comfortable while the women have brought in little heaters and sweaters to stave off frostbite.

Another example is my father. We live together in a condo that (thankfully) has central air. He likes to crank the ac way up until I'm huddling under fleece blankets while we watch tv. He just doesn't understand that I need to feel my toes at least part of the day.

The white noise thing is something I can relate to as well. My sort-of boyfriend is astounded (and slightly horrified) by the fact that I like to go to sleep listening the music. I play it very quietly and I never play the rock-n-roll I listen to during the day. Ballads and instrumental pieces help me sleep. Robert Smith too. He puts me right out. =)

My job's the same way. Think about it... they're wearing ties, long-sleeve dress shirts, a t-shirt under that usually, long pants, heavy socks and shoes. What are WE wearing? A skirt and a thin silk shirt that exposes a good bit of the chest and neck area. Our wrists and ankles arnt covered, usually not that part that usually gets cold on me first--that spot on my back just below that weird joint where my neck spine turns into my spine spine. no wonder we're fricking freezing. oh yeah and the lack of body hair.

There should be a fashion trend that encourages men to wear those "man-pris" to work with sandals. I bet once their feet start getting cold, the ac will be turned down considerably.
